The Mill Keeps Rolling

Thirty years ago the idea of an arts council lasting more than five years was amazing. Grist Mill, because of committed volunteers, has surpassed and thrived way beyond normal expectations. Once again, there are planning committees in place to keep the Mill rolling.

At the last Board of Directors’ meeting, Vice President Dave Murray was presented with the task of forming a planning committee for 2009 events and productions.

A small committee of Paul Koch, Sue Jones and Eileen Adickes has met to formulate planning phases to utilize and develop the theater basement to its fullest potential. In addition to storage, dreams for that space include a meeting room and an art gallery. Folks who donated to the building fund in 2007 have inspired these dreamers to keep on planning. The first phase of the basement development will still require muscle - there are many things “down there” that need to be removed and work days will be scheduled when warmer weather returns.
